Overview

With taking 5 classes this semester, I found myself pretty worn thin as I navigated many group projects whilst keeping up with my own assignments. However, it wasn't as torturous as it sounds! I learned so much about myself that I believe will only improve my overall self and prepare me to a successful marketer.

Achievements

This semester I had a total of 3 group projects that between my Brand Management, Content Marketing and International Marketing.

Brand Management: Watercourse Foods Marketing Plan

  • Role: Lead Coordinator

  • Final Project Grade: 145/150

  • Presentation Grade: 49/50

  • Highlight

    • Watercourse Foods seemed to changed their website to fit my graphics used for the presentation

    • Owner commented "Presentation and plan were what a partner would expect in the professional setting

Content Marketing: MSU Denver Office of Online Learning Marketing Plan

  • Role: Lead Coordinator

  • Final Project Grade: 100/100

  • Highlights

    • Learned a lot about creating email templates

Lessons

  • Confidence as a leader

    • The biggest lesson I learned is that regardless of the project I feel more comfortable taking a lead role instead of support.

    • The one group I didn't take lead coordinator on the project was extremely disorganized, and I was unable to properly check for quality

  • Project Timeline Creation

    • I became very familiar with creating timelines that ensure accountability and compliance from all group members

  • Confidence in creative skills.

    • In my groups I was the main creative, and I found myself having a lot of success being the one to generate ideas for deliverables and the marketing plans overall.

    • Created a process for myself in idea generation of using word clouds or improving my research skills to generate ideas

Summary

The semester to me was a success overall as I learned so many things that I believe will only improve my skills as a marketer. Additionally, out of all my semesters thus far, this was the one that made me feel incredibly confident that I'm exceptionally good at being a marketer. I'm excited for my next and final semester as I feel generally emboldened by my success this semester!
